Manex is a PhD student at the University of Bristol and member of the Soft Robotics Research Group. His background is in industrial automation and robotics, as well as in biorobotics, and he has strong interest in bioinspired and biomimetic robotics.Â
His research focuses on the development of a legged mobile robot for amphibious and multi-terrain navigation by drawing inspiration from biological chelonians. By studying the biomechanics of these animals, he aims to develop robots capable of adapting to diverse and dynamic environments, making them well-suited for applications such as environmental monitoring and search and rescue in harsh conditions.
As part of the PROTEAS group, he aims to explore how robots can be made more sustainable and employed to address global environmental challenges.
